This project aims to connect Romania more efficiently with Western Europe, promoting sustainable and efficient transport of goods.

The Intermodal Terminal in Oradea, situated in the CFR Episcopia Bihor station area, has commenced operations seven months ahead of schedule.

Initially, the terminal will support four weekly departures, with plans to increase this frequency and open services to additional operators. To further support sustainable practices, a 1MW substation will be installed to charge electric trucks, contributing to greener intermodal transport.

Strategically positioned near the Transylvania Highway and the Oradea-Arad expressway, the terminal will transform Oradea into a critical logistics hub for the North-West region. A link road to the E60/DN1 will provide quick and efficient access to national and international road networks. The planned electrification of the Cluj-Napoca - Oradea - Episcopia Bihor railway will increase the importance of this logistics center.

The project involved constructing two railway lines, each approximately 700 meters long, for loading and unloading goods, along with a concrete platform, a container-type administrative building, a truck parking lot, perimeter fencing, lighting, and utility connections.
