On 26 May 2025, an investment agreement was signed to expand the Euroterminal Sławków logistics hub, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The agreement involves the Industrial Development Agency (ARP) and Euroterminal Sławków management, initiating a €40 million (PLN 180 million) project aimed at increasing the terminal's capacity.
The first phase includes constructing a second intermodal terminal, which will provide seven additional tracks. New transshipment equipment designed for faster handling of intermodal containers is also part of the project. As a result, the terminal's annual transshipment capacity will nearly double from the current 285,000 TEU to approximately 530,000 TEU.
The terminal in Sławków connects the European standard gauge network and the broad-gauge LHS line from Ukraine, uniquely enabling direct rail access between Asia and Europe without gauge change. The broad-gauge track runs from the Ukrainian border near Hrubieszów directly to the terminal, simplifying the logistics chain for east-west freight transport.
The location benefits from proximity to major motorways, including the A1 (8 km) and A4 (10 km), as well as Kraków-Balice (57 km) and Katowice-Pyrzowice (44 km) airports.
