The initial container shipments from the Rijeka Gateway terminal have reached Nelt Group’s intermodal terminal in Belgrade. The new rail connection links the port of Rijeka with Nelt’s logistics hub in Dobanovci, located near the Serbian capital.
Nelt operates the terminal as part of its broader logistics infrastructure in Serbia. Positioned within a central distribution centre, the Dobanovci facility handles intermodal traffic connecting to various European ports and inland terminals. In addition to Belgrade, Nelt also manages a second terminal in Kruševac.
The company describes the new connection as part of its efforts to integrate regional transport flows. The shipments from Rijeka arrive by rail, reinforcing the company’s role in the regional supply chain. The intermodal terminal in Belgrade continues to serve as a node for cargo bound for or arriving from European and global markets.
The development follows the operational launch of the Rijeka Gateway, a new container terminal at the Port of Rijeka operated by APM Terminals and ENNA Logic. The facility is part of Croatia’s efforts to increase container throughput via the Adriatic corridor.
