The service connects the customer’s plant in Jamnagar with Mundra Port via Morbi.

MEDLOG India and MSC India have launched a dedicated block train service for an industrial customer in Gujarat.

The rail service is designed for block train movements between the industrial site and India’s largest commercial and container port. MEDLOG said the route is intended to support cargo evacuation from the Jamnagar plant and reduce reliance on long-haul trucking.

The launch comes as Indian logistics operators face higher diesel costs and limited truck driver availability. MEDLOG and MSC India said the rail-led service is intended to provide more predictable schedules and lower transport costs on the Jamnagar–Morbi–Mundra corridor.

The service forms part of MEDLOG India’s inland logistics offer for industrial customers using multimodal transport. According to MEDLOG India’s integrated logistics management, the shift from road to rail is aimed at providing a more reliable and cost-efficient supply chain for the customer.

Mundra Port serves as a major container gateway for western India. The new block train service links inland industrial cargo flows in Gujarat with port operations on the Arabian Sea.
