HHLA opens modernised Eurobridge Terminal in Batiovo

The facility is designed to strengthen rail freight links between Ukraine and the European Union.

HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik has put its modernised Eurobridge Intermodal Terminal in Batiovo, western Ukraine, into operation.

The terminal provides transhipment between the Ukrainian 1,520 mm broad-gauge network and the European 1,435 mm standard gauge. It handles containers and bulk cargo with an annual capacity of up to 100,000 TEU and is operated as an open-access facility for all market participants.

The site forms part of HHLA’s cross-border logistics network and supports intermodal services combining rail and road transport. By enabling direct connections between Ukrainian rail infrastructure and EU logistics systems, the terminal serves exporters and freight forwarders moving goods across the EU-Ukraine border.

HHLA operates container terminals and intermodal hubs across Europe and has expanded its footprint in hinterland and cross-border rail logistics in recent years.
