Forwardis has received a multi-year contract from ScandFibre Logistics to operate the Rail27 international service from mid-December 2026.
Rail27 handles around 12,000 wagons per year between Sweden and more than 20 terminals in continental Europe. ScandFibre Logistics uses the service to export goods from Swedish paper mills and to organise backloads with industrial and consumer products.
The Forwardis solution will be managed from Germany and covers network design, end-to-end service management, system train operations, single wagonload movements and coordination of traction providers.
Railway partners named for the service include Green Cargo, Captrain Deutschland, BLS Cargo, Captrain Italia, Hexafret, Rheinhafen Krefeld, the ForwardNet network, Lineas and Die Brohltalbahn.
Forwardis is part of Rail Logistics Europe. ScandFibre Logistics serves the Scandinavian forestry industry, with Rail27 providing rail-based distribution from Sweden to continental European markets.
