Rail Cargo Group has signed a cooperation agreement with Augsburger Localbahn to provide last-mile rail services in the Augsburg region.
Under the agreement, Augsburger Localbahn will support Rail Cargo Group with regional shunting and first- and last-mile operations within Augsburg and a radius of more than 80 kilometres. The companies state that the cooperation is intended to improve service coverage and operational reliability for industrial customers in the area.
Augsburger Localbahn operates local freight infrastructure and industrial sidings in the region, providing connections between customer facilities and the mainline network. Rail Cargo Group, the freight division of ÖBB, integrates such regional partners into its RAILCORE production concept for block train and wagonload traffic.
