From January to October alone, 2,790 trains were operated, marking a 49% year-on-year increase. On average, a train departed every 2.6 hours.

Henan Province recorded 2,811 China-Europe freight train trips between January and early November this year, with a 46.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to Henan Zhongyu International Port Group, New Silk Road Discovery informs.

The number of services to Southeast Asia also grew rapidly, with 323 trains dispatched to ASEAN destinations during the ten-month period — a 308% increase over the previous year.

Route developments and new destinations

Henan Zhongyu launched several new connections in 2025, including:

  • A southern corridor with direct service to Budapest, Hungary.
  • New domestic links such as to Tongjiang Port in Heilongjiang Province.
  • A rail-road intermodal service on the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan route.

The international logistics network now includes 26 direct overseas destinations, with coverage extending to over 40 countries and 140 cities. The network operates through nine entry-exit ports and includes connections to cities such as Warsaw, Poland.

Balanced two-way operations

The balance between outbound and return trips has improved. Return services, particularly the Warsaw–Zhengzhou connection, have become regular, transporting European goods like foodstuffs, machinery, and auto components back to Central China. This supports regional enterprises by offering more stable cross-border logistics for both import and export.

New infrastructure

In June 2025, Henan opened the Zhengzhou China-Europe Railway Express Consolidation Centre. The facility features 12 automated container handling lines, with an annual throughput capacity of 10 million tonnes and the ability to dispatch up to 40 trains per day.
