GATX Rail Europe has delivered two Eamnos type 9158 railcars to LogServ for a two-month testing period focused on scrap transport operations.
LogServ, a logistics subsidiary of voestalpine Stahl, will evaluate the wagons' performance under operational conditions, with the resulting data used to refine their suitability for specific cargo types. The test campaign includes documentation and a final evaluation report, which may guide future adaptations of the Eamnos design.
The Eamnos wagons are engineered for robust industrial applications, featuring high load capacity, reinforced side walls, and bottom discharge systems. They are widely used for transporting heavy bulk goods such as steel scrap, timber, and aggregates.
The trial builds on the long-standing relationship between GATX Rail Europe and LogServ and is part of broader efforts to optimise wagon design for demanding cargo sectors.
