The service runs alongside the existing Zeebrugge–Dourges–Perpignan route, providing a daily option for shipments to and from Spain via the North Sea corridor.

P&O Ferrymasters has launched a new direct intermodal rail connection between Zeebrugge and Barcelona, operating three times per week.

The direct route between Zeebrugge and Barcelona does not include intermediate stops, which reduces the risk of disruption linked to transshipment. According to the operator, the routing enables an average reduction of approximately 250 km of road transport per shipment.

Intermodal units supported include both containers and swap-bodies, offering compatibility with different handling systems. The new train adds to P&O Ferrymasters' network from Zeebrugge, which already links to the UK, Ireland, Northern France, the Netherlands, the Ruhr region, Scandinavia, and the Baltics through a combination of ferry, shortsea, and overland services.
