Cargo Wagon has delivered 160 Eas-z open wagons designed for scrap metal traffic and plans to complete another 160 units by the end of 2026.
The floor thickness has been increased from 6 mm to 8 mm, while the number of wall reinforcements has been raised from four to six. The design also features reduced door openings to lower maintenance requirements and operating costs.
The wagon is built from S355 steel and configured for 55 tonnes of loose scrap, targeting operations on Class C lines. Each vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking, including shock and impact recording.
Cargo Wagon positions the Eas-z as a dedicated solution for scrap metal transport, where loading processes and material characteristics place higher stress on wagon structures than conventional bulk flows.
