Alstom has signed a contract with Hellenic Train for the supply of 23 Coradia Stream electric multiple trains for passenger services in Greece.

The order covers eleven trains intended for suburban commuter services and twelve for long-distance intercity operations. All trains are designed for a maximum operating speed of 160 km/h. Design and production will be carried out in Italy at Alstom’s manufacturing site in Savigliano.

Each train will be composed of six cars. Seating capacity varies depending on the service type, with intercity trains configured for 335 passengers and suburban trains for 362 passengers. Access arrangements include two doors per side on the middle cars and one door per side on the end cars.

Passenger areas will include luggage racks, power sockets for electronic devices and dedicated spaces for bicycles and strollers. Interior layouts, colour schemes and finishes will be defined during the design phase in accordance with Hellenic Train’s requirements.

The trains will also be equipped with digital passenger counting systems based on sensor technology, along with passenger information systems combining audio announcements and dynamic visual displays.
