A new direct rail freight link between the Port of Koper and the Debrecen Intermodal Terminal (DIT) has been launched, with the first train arriving in Hungary on 28 July 2025.

The train departied Koper early Sunday and arrived in DIT early morning the next day, carrying equipment intended for an industrial real estate project in Debrecen.

The service was coordinated by Hungarian logistics company Ghibli Group in cooperation with rail operator GYSEV CARGO, maritime carrier CMA CGM, and Adria kombi, with Luka Koper facilitating port-side operations.

By this, a direct connection between the Adriatic Sea and Hungary’s eastern logistics hub without intermediate stops was launched.
