Trailers, swap bodies, and containers are transported on weekdays between Gothenburg Kombi terminal and Norrköping Port.

Starting in May, Green Cargo has introduced a new intermodal train service between Gothenburg Kombi and Norrköping Port. This initiative provides daily departures from Monday through Friday, transporting trailers, swap bodies, and containers. The service is designed to offer a quick, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional road transport along this corridor.

Green Cargo's latest offering comes in response to a growing demand for combined rail, sea, and road transport solutions. The company has collaborated with terminal operators to deliver a competitive transport option intended to reduce the environmental impact typically associated with road transport.

The service is structured to meet customer needs with tailored drop-off and pick-up times, allowing for overnight transportation. Peter Nerheden from DB Cargo FLS Nordic highlighted that this new rail solution could potentially save both time and costs for their customers.

In collaboration with DB Cargo FLS Nordic, Green Cargo seeks to streamline the flow of goods for their customers by integrating various intermodal units, such as trailers and containers, onto their intermodal wagons.

For companies operating in this corridor, the new service offers an option that balances economic and environmental considerations in the shift towards more sustainable freight transport.
