Ermewa announced the start of fulfilment of an order for 150 Shimmns wagons for the Iberian peninsula. The initial batch of 12 wagons were delivered from Inveho manufacturing plant in France. This rolling stock renewal is a part of the EUR 17.3 million support from Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Programmes via the from the NextGenerationEU programme.
New Shimmns wagons produced in the Orval facility of Inveho are intended for coils transportation. They have a carrying capacity of 68.5 tonnes, with gross weight of 90 tonnes. When empty, their maximum speed is 120 km/h, which is decreased by 20 km/h when loaded.
From the bigger order, 50 additional wagons are the pocket wagons manufactured by Talleres Alegría, which have also already been spotted on the Spanish territory.
