Alstom and Swedish rail operator SJ have agreed on a two-year maintenance contract covering night train rolling stock operating between Stockholm, Umeå, Luleå, and Narvik.
Since 2013, Alstom has maintained SJ's night train fleet in Sweden, managing vehicle availability and operational readiness. The new contract is linked with the company's ongoing strategy focused on northern Sweden, which also includes a recently initiated ten-year agreement for the maintenance of Norrtåg’s regional fleet.
As part of its activities in the north, Alstom is expanding the facilities at its Luleå depot, incorporating data-driven maintenance techniques supported by its Maintenance Performance Centre in Sweden. This investment includes expanding staffing levels, both technical and administrative, in response to the growing demand for railway maintenance services.
