Leo Express started regular services on the Warsaw–Kraków route on 1 March 2026, entering the Polish domestic long-distance market. The first train departed Warszawa Wschodnia and ran via Warszawa Centralna, Warszawa Zachodnia, Opoczno Południe and Włoszczowa Północ to Kraków Główny.
The operator is running two daily return services between Warsaw and Kraków. Leo Express has also increased frequency on the Kraków–Prague route to four trains per day in each direction on selected days. One Prague–Kraków service will additionally call at Oświęcim, while another will serve Racibórz, Rybnik, Tychy and Mysłowice.
According to the operator, more than 100,000 tickets were sold in advance for the new Polish services. The trains operate on a commercial basis without public subsidy.
Further expansion is planned in the first half of 2026. From June, Leo Express intends to increase Warsaw–Kraków services to four daily return frequencies. The company also plans a new international route linking Przemyśl, Rzeszów, Kraków, Ostrava, Olomouc, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, Erfurt and Frankfurt Airport.
In addition, a Prague–Pardubice–Olomouc–Bratislava service is scheduled to launch in the first half of the year, operated with Talgo trainsets. On the other hand, the operator temporarily halted services of its Stadler FLIRT units from Prague via Ostrava to Slovak Žilina and Prešov. These 3kV units will not be able to pass via Žilina station that will soon be converted to 25 kV catenary system. Leo Express plans to return here on this line once new Siemens Vectron MS-pulled second-hand Talgo trainsets from its mother company Renfe are fully operational on this line.
