A new daily container train service now links Stuttgart with Bremerhaven, starting August 1, 2024. The service, managed by Necoss (Neutral Container Shuttle GmbH), a subsidiary of evb, aims to streamline the transportation of goods between the two locations.

Operating from the DP World Container Terminal in Stuttgart, the trains run nightly, while loading and unloading activities occur during the day at both ends. This schedule allows the service to handle over 1,000 containers weekly, utilizing renewable energy sources to maintain CO2 neutrality.

In Bremerhaven, shunting operations are performed using HVO100 fuel, minimizing emissions further. This initiative ensures that the goods produced in Baden-Württemberg can be transported efficiently and with reduced environmental impact.

Necoss, with over two decades of experience in seaport-hinterland transport, guarantees a customer-oriented approach, leveraging its seasoned workforce to maintain high service standards. Since 2019, it has been wholly owned by Eisenbahnen und Verkehrsbetriebe Elbe-Weser GmbH (evb).

DP World plays a crucial role in this operation, ensuring effective and eco-friendly container handling at the Stuttgart terminal. By integrating low-emission equipment and renewable energy in rail transport, the supply chain remains environmentally conscious.
