The operator has implemented a new timetable from 15 September, increasing the total number of weekly services to 2,045 – exceeding pre-pandemic levels for the first time.

Avant West Coast has added 86 trains per week, which translates into over 38,000 additional seats, representing a 3.8% increase in network capacity.

The Liverpool route sees the largest increase, with 36 extra services per week between London and Liverpool. This provides more frequent departures during peak hours, with several services now operating at half-hourly intervals. Of these, 35 trains will call at Tamworth and Lichfield Trent Valley, improving regional connectivity to London.

On the London–Midlands corridor, 26 additional services have been introduced, including 20 new weekday trains. Chester also benefits from enhanced connectivity, with two additional weekday services in each direction now offering an hourly frequency. Weekend schedules have been reinforced with two more services on both Saturday and Sunday. These extensions support travel to and from North Wales.

Manchester gains two extra weekday services, including a later southbound departure. The northbound schedule now includes an additional evening option calling at Nuneaton and Macclesfield.

The expansion follows the full introduction of Avanti West Coast’s Evero fleet. The operator now runs up to 20 of these new trains daily. The £350 million procurement included 13 bi-mode and 10 electric trainsets aimed at improving reliability and performance on partially electrified routes.

This timetable revision continues Avanti West Coast’s post-2020 service recovery strategy, gradually increasing frequency while introducing new rolling stock and route coverage.
